At More to Say, we strive to make the process of starting pediatric therapy as smooth and stress-free as possible for families. Below is what you can expect from the moment you call us to schedule an evaluation.
Services at More to Say can be pursued through a referral or independently. We do not require a referral from a doctor or pediatrician for an evaluation. You can contact us directly by:
Please note, although a pediatrician is not needed for referral, we do require an active pediatrician on file for coordination of care. If you do not have a pediatrician, please reach out to us for recommendations in your area!
Upon receiving the initial referral or contact, our intake coordinators will follow up within one business day. During this intake phone call, we will gather information, including your contact details and insurance, and schedule the evaluation(s).
We encourage families to review their own insurance benefits, but we also check as a courtesy. Our insurance coordinator will verify your benefits and give you a call before your scheduled evaluation to provide a breakdown of your:
Note: If your insurance doesn’t cover services or meeting your deductible is a barrier, we offer private pay options, payment plans, and have a deductible program to keep therapy accessible for your child.
Once an evaluation is scheduled, we will send you a welcome email that includes digital intake paperwork to complete beforehand.
Our receptionist will give you a reminder call 24 hours before your child’s evaluation. You will also receive a call from the evaluating clinician, where they will introduce themselves and answer any questions you may have about the evaluation session.
Each evaluation is tailored to your child’s abilities and reason for pursuing services. Evaluations typically include:
At the end of the evaluation, the clinician will review their findings with you and recommend a frequency of services based on your child’s performance.
At the end of the evaluation, our receptionists will work with you to schedule regular therapy sessions. These typically begin the following week, and we always encourage caregivers to participate! If you choose to stay in the waiting room, the treating therapist will provide a summary of the session, discuss areas targeted, and provide home programming tailored to your child for carryover outside of sessions.
Every 12 weeks, we complete a formal progress note that updates your child’s progress towards goals. This is how we ensure your child’s therapy continues to be effective and tailored to their specific needs.
We maintain open communication with families and regularly check in to see what strategies are working at home, while making adjustments as needed. Our goal is to empower you with the tools to support your child’s growth in all areas of life.
At More to Say, we utilize a child-led, play-based, and naturalistic approach to therapy. We will help your child work on their therapy goals using activities that are fun and motivating for them. We use their strengths and interests to support their growth, which makes learning both fun and effective.
Collaboration is a key part of our approach. We work closely as a More to Say team and also with outside providers when needed. If your child receives other support services, and you consent, we will collaborate with those providers to ensure holistic care. This allows us to work with your child’s healthcare or school-based team to support their success across all environments!
Once your child gets started, you will receive access to our Patient Portal where you can conveniently manage your child’s care. Through the portal, you can view scheduled appointments, cancel or request appointments, complete paperwork, make payments, and upload necessary documents like insurance cards or diagnostic reports. You can also review your child’s progress notes and evaluation reports.
Yes! Since we take a holistic approach to therapy, we recognize that some children may benefit from additional support beyond our services. If we identify an area where your child could use extra help, we can provide resources for trusted specialists in your area.
Our dedicated billing team manages claims, investigates claim discrepancies, and works closely with families and insurance companies to resolve any issues that may arise. If needed, they can also assist you in developing payment plans to ensure your child’s continued access to care.
